Straight, wavy, curly, coily, frizzy... It’s easy; see for yourself !
 
Knowing the shape of your hair is crucial to selecting the hair care products best suited to you. We are talking about "Hair Type”, which is presented in the analysis chart by André Walker (African-American hairstylist, whose clients include the likes of Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey).

André Walker developed his system based on 2 criteria:
• hair texture (identified by numbers ranging from 1 to 4)
• hair thickness and characteristics (classified by letters A to C)

How to identify your hair type--Let’s dive into the details:

Texture:
Type 1: Your hair appears straight and smooth, without even the slightest wave.
Type 2: Your hair is wavy but not curly.
Type 3: Your hair is curly or coily.
Type 4: Your hair is frizzy.

Thickness and characteristics:
1A: Your hair is smooth and very fine.
1B: Your hair is smooth and somewhat thick.
1C: Your hair is smooth and thick.

 
2A: Your hair is wavy, with thin to average thickness, prone to frizz in humid conditions, and flat.
2B: Your hair is very wavy, somewhat thick and prone to mild frizz along the scalp.
2C: Your hair is wavy with an S shape, thick and voluminous.
 
3A: Your hair is curly with big, loose curls. Your hair may be heavy, which may explain the slight loss in curl definition.
3B: Your hair is coily with more and tighter S-shaped curls.
3C: Your hair is coily with tight, well-defined curls. The hair is very dense.
 
4A: Your hair is frizzy and voluminous, with very tight S-shaped curls.
4B: Your hair is frizzy, and your Z-shaped curls are extremely tight. The hair is dense and fragile.
4C: Your hair is frizzy, and your Z-shaped curls appear woolly and sometimes "heavy”. This hair type is the most fragile.
